As the baseball world turns its attention to the 2024 Winter Meetings in Dallas, Texas for the next three days, we keep at least one eye firmly on the Braves minor leagues. To that end, here is the latest iteration of the Outfield Fly Rule top Braves prospect list. There are many prospect lists out there, this one is ours.

Changes From 2024

The first change from the prior year is that former #4 prospect Spencer Schwellenbach graduated to the major leagues.

Prospects #14 Sabin Ceballos and #15 Cole Philips left the organization in trades for Jorge Soler and Jarred Kelenic respectively.

Other than that, it is essentially the same prospect pool carried over with the additions of the 2024 international amateur class and the 2024 amateur draft. This has resulted in what appears to be a far deeper list, enough that we felt like tacking on an additional 20 prospects at the end of the list with one-paragraph discussion points, bringing the list up to 50 names for the first time in awhile.

Preview for 2025

With the Winter Meetings comes opportunities for trades, and with a number of open positions in Atlanta at the time of this writing it seems almost inevitable that this list may have a number of gaps in it before the start of spring training.

That said, there’s a lot to look forward to down on the farm. Every starting rotation in all full-season clubs should go at least four deep in real prospects. The 2023 draft has held up strong so far and early results for 2024 have been exciting as well. While the investment in position players on the international side haven’t brought many exciting results to date, some players are starting percolate up to low-A, and with youth comes promise.

On the other end of the organizational ladder there should be opportunity for perhaps as many as five to seven major league debuts, most notably for catcher Drake Baldwin who we may be underselling at only #3 on our list.
